Claude isn't offered in mainland China or Hong Kong — which regions connect directly, how to pick a node, and how to keep the connection stable.

Do I need a VPN to use Claude?

If you're in mainland China or Hong Kong — yes. Anthropic's supported-region list excludes both, so a direct connection shows "Claude is not available in your region" or simply never loads.

Regions that connect directly

The US, UK, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and most of Europe are supported; from there Claude works with no tooling at all. Anthropic's website has the authoritative list.

Picking a node

  1. Prefer US, Japan, Singapore, or Taiwan exits — low latency and reliable.
  2. Run your tool in global mode so no requests leak onto the direct route.
  3. Once you find a good node, stay on it. Claude's security is sensitive to IP churn; bouncing from the US one day to Germany the next invites verification prompts or worse.
  4. If a crowded node gets sluggish at peak times, switch to another node in the *same* region rather than jumping continents.

On your phone

The mobile browser and the Claude app both need the same network setup — connect your tool first, then open the app. Installing the app requires a foreign App Store / Google Play account; the web version at claude.ai is nearly identical, so it's the simpler choice.

If it still doesn't work

  • Region error persists after switching nodes: clear cookies or use an incognito window — the old region verdict may be cached.
  • Loads fine but responses crawl: that's node speed, not the account; pick a faster exit.
  • Repeated Cloudflare human checks: the node's IP reputation is poor; change nodes.

You'll need to arrange the network tool yourself — FoxVIP doesn't provide one. If Claude still fails on a confirmed-good connection, contact FoxVIP live support with your order number.
