Gemini Pro
【Gemini Pro】Do I need a VPN to use Gemini?
Region-by-region answer — most regions connect directly, mainland China needs its own network tool — plus why sticking to one node avoids security checks.
Do I need a VPN to use Gemini?
It depends on where you are. In Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the US, and most other regions, gemini.google.com opens directly with no tools needed. Mainland China cannot reach Google services directly, so a network tool of your own is required.
By region
- Hong Kong / Taiwan / Macau and most overseas regions: use it directly.
- Mainland China: all Google services are blocked. Bring your own stable network tool and pick exit nodes in supported regions such as the US, Japan, Singapore, or Taiwan. FoxVIP does not supply network tools.
Tips for a stable setup
- Stick to one node: keep using the same region long-term. Hopping IPs (US today, Germany tomorrow) is a classic trigger for Google security verification and can even lock sign-ins temporarily.
- Connect first, sign in second: make sure google.com loads normally before logging in to the account.
- Route your phone and computer through the same network exit where possible to reduce "new location" alerts.
If the page says your region isn't supported
- When you see "Gemini isn't available in your region yet", switch to a node in a supported region and refresh.
- If Google asks you to re-verify after the switch, follow the verification-code flow on your order page.
