Privacy on a shared Grok account: what others can see

Short answer: everyone on the account can see every saved conversation, including yours. The chat history in the left sidebar is account-wide, not per-person.

How to protect yourself

• Never put personal sensitive information into a chat — ID numbers, passwords, private documents, financial details.
• For anything sensitive, start a Private Chat (Ghost mode): the conversation is not saved to history, so other members never see it.

• Alternatively, delete a conversation right after you finish it — hover over it in the sidebar and use the "…" menu (full steps in the delete-history article).

Shared-account etiquette

• Don't delete or edit conversations that other members created.
• Don't change the account profile, name, or settings on the Grok side — those affect everyone.

Treat the account like a shared workspace: keep your own things tidy, leave other people's alone, and route anything genuinely private through Private Chat.
