HBO Max
【HBO Max】How do profiles work on a shared HBO Max account?
How the 5-profile limit, adult and kids profiles, and per-profile watch history work when you share an HBO Max account.
How do profiles work on a shared HBO Max account?
Each HBO Max account holds up to 5 profiles, and on a FoxVIP shared order, exactly one of them is yours — the one named on your order page. Everything personal lives inside the profile, not the account.
What's separate per profile
- Watch history and "Continue Watching" — only your profile sees what you've played.
- My List — titles you save are saved to your profile alone.
- Recommendations — shaped by your viewing, not your seatmates'.
Adult vs. Kids profiles
Profiles come in two types. Adult profiles have full access to the catalog and can set a PIN lock. Kids profiles show only child-appropriate content and are managed from an adult profile — leaving kids mode requires the adult PIN. Your assigned profile on a FoxVIP order is an adult profile unless the order says otherwise.
Finding and personalizing your profile
- After signing in at max.com, the profile picker lists every profile on the account.
- Select the one matching the name on your FoxVIP order page — that spelling is exact.
- To change your own avatar or display name: click your avatar (top right) → Manage Profiles → select your profile → edit.
You can freely restyle your own profile. Never rename, edit, create, or delete the others — each belongs to another paying member, and deleting one wipes their history permanently.
If something looks off
- Can't tell which profile is yours? Recheck the exact name on the order page — avatars may have changed, names haven't.
- Your profile is missing or renamed? Don't create a new one; contact FoxVIP live support with your order number.
