How do I activate HBO Max on my TV?

On a TV you don't type the password with the remote — the app shows a 6-digit code, and you enter that code at max.com/signin on your phone or computer. The whole thing takes about two minutes.

Supported TV platforms

The HBO Max app is available on Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android TV / Google TV, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV. Install it from your TV's app store first if it isn't already there.

Activate with the 6-digit code

1. Open the HBO Max app on the TV and choose Sign In.
2. Pick Sign in through a website. The TV displays a 6-digit activation code.
3. On your phone or computer, go to max.com/signin.
4. Sign in with the account email and password from your FoxVIP order page (log in to FoxVIP → My Subscriptions → open the order) if you aren't signed in already.
5. Enter the 6-digit code from the TV screen and confirm.
6. The TV refreshes into the account on its own — no further input on the remote.
7. On the profile screen, select your assigned profile and start watching.

Code expired?

Activation codes are only valid for a few minutes. If max.com/signin says the code is invalid or expired, go back to the TV and select Get a new code, then enter the fresh one — don't retry the old code.

Alternative: type the password on the TV

Most TV apps also offer a direct email-and-password option on the Sign In screen. It works, but entering a rotated, complex password with a remote is error-prone — the website code flow is faster and safer.

If activation fails

• Code rejected instantly → you likely mistyped one digit; codes are numbers only, re-read the TV screen.
• Page says signed in but TV doesn't advance → wait ~30 seconds, then get a new code and repeat.
• Sign In screen shows no website option → update the TV app to the latest version.
• Password rejected at max.com/signin → refresh your FoxVIP order page for the current password.
