How does shared iCloud+ storage work? Can others see my files?

No — nobody can see your files. The family shares a 2TB capacity pool, but each member's photos, files, and backups are tied to their own Apple ID and encrypted separately. No other member, not even the family organizer, can open them.

How the storage works

There's nothing to configure after joining:

1. Your iCloud Photos library, iPhone backups, iCloud Drive, and Messages backups automatically start using the family's 2TB plan.
2. If backups or photo uploads had stalled because your free 5GB was full, they resume automatically — leave the phone on Wi-Fi to let the first sync finish.
3. Capacity is drawn from the pool as used; there's no fixed per-person quota.

Checking usage

1. Open Settings → tap your name at the top → "iCloud".
2. Tap "Manage Account Storage" → "Family Usage".
3. This screen only shows how many GB each member is using — never file names or contents.

What stays private

• Sharing capacity is not sharing data: your photos, Safari history, backups, and passwords belong to your Apple ID alone.
• The organizer can remove a member from the family, but can never read, download, or delete a member's data.
• If you actively want to share photos with family, that's the separate "Shared Library" feature — it stays off unless you turn it on.

If the 2TB pool fills up

When the pool is full, no member can upload anything new. Check your own usage under "Manage Account Storage" and clear large items such as old device backups. If one member's usage looks abnormal over time, contact FoxVIP live support with your order number.
