Midjourney keeps failing or queueing — what do I do?

Midjourney

【Midjourney】Midjourney keeps failing or queueing — what do I do?

A four-step diagnosis for failed or stuck generations, covering quota, content moderation, concurrent job limits, and platform issues.

Midjourney keeps failing or queueing — what do I do?

First separate two symptoms: can't submit / gets rejected usually means content moderation or the concurrency cap; submits but waits forever usually means the Relax queue. Work through the checks in order.

1. Is it just the Relax queue?

Once Fast hours are exhausted the account drops to Relax mode, where jobs wait in line — 10+ minutes at peak times is normal. To confirm:

  • The web app shows a queued state on the task card; on Discord, /info shows whether Fast Time is used up.
  • If so: waiting is all it takes, or generate during off-peak hours (late night Asia time) for much shorter waits. Hours reset next billing cycle.

2. Content moderation blocked the prompt

An instant red warning, or a "blocked" reply from the bot, means your prompt or reference image tripped Midjourney's filter:

  • Remove terms touching on violence, nudity, or real public figures and retry.
  • Sometimes a harmless word gets caught — swap in a synonym (e.g. "shoot" → "capture") and it usually passes.
  • If a reference image was rejected, use a different one.
  • Don't brute-force it: repeated filter hits in a short window can get the account suspended by Midjourney, which affects every shared user.

3. Concurrent job limit reached

One account can only run so many jobs at once (extras queue up; when the queue is full, submissions fail). On a shared account, other users are generating too, so peak-time collisions happen:

  • Wait a few minutes for running jobs to clear, then resubmit.
  • Submit one or two jobs at a time rather than a burst.

4. Platform or network issues

  • Discord stuck: restart Discord, or try the same prompt on the midjourney.com web app — both use the same account, so this isolates whether the entry point is the problem.
  • Web app spinning forever: clear cookies and sign in again, or switch browsers.
  • Check status.midjourney.com — occasionally it's a platform-wide outage.

Still broken?

If everything above checks out and the account signs in fine but still can't generate, the account itself may be in a bad state. Contact FoxVIP live support with your order number and a screenshot of the failure.
