Microsoft 365 Family includes the full Office suite on desktop, web, phone, and iPad — and unlocks the premium editing features on mobile devices.

Phone and iPad

Download the all-in-one Microsoft 365 (Office) app from the App Store or Google Play, or install Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook individually.
Open the app and sign in with your Microsoft account (the one that joined the family group).
Signing in unlocks the premium tier:

- iPads larger than 10.1 inches: free accounts can only view documents — a subscription is required to edit. Your family seat unlocks full editing, one of the plan's most useful perks. - On phones, you get premium editing features like Track Changes, custom chart colors, and text wrapping around pictures.

Files sync through OneDrive, so you can start a document on your computer and pick it up on your phone.

Web versions

No install handy? Sign in at office.com and use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the web, with documents saved straight to OneDrive. Web apps don't count against your device installs.

Common questions

The mobile app still asks me to subscribe: confirm you're signed in with the account that joined the family group (check under Me → Account in the app). If the account is right, sign out and back in to refresh entitlements.
Is Access available on Mac? Access and Publisher are Windows-only; Mac users get every other app in the suite.
