Why does Prime Video say my password is incorrect?

The password has usually been rotated — refresh your FoxVIP order page for the latest one, and never spam retries or click Forgot password.

Why does Prime Video say my password is incorrect?

Stop retrying first. Nine times out of ten the account password has been rotated on schedule — refresh your FoxVIP order page and sign in with the password currently shown.

The right way to fix it

  1. Open FoxVIP My Subscriptions → Prime Video order details and refresh the page to see the current email and password.
  2. Use the copy button and paste the password into the sign-in field. Typing by hand mixes up case, zero vs. letter O, and similar traps.
  3. After pasting, check for a trailing space — the most common issue when copying through chat apps.
  4. Double-check the email too; users with several orders sometimes mix up which password belongs to which account.

What NOT to do

  • Never click "Forgot password." Resetting it instantly kicks off every shared user and trips Amazon's security review. It's a rule violation.
  • Never hammer retries. Amazon reacts to rapid failed logins with puzzles and can temporarily lock the account ("For your security, we've locked your account"), taking everyone offline.
  • Don't rely on stale autofill entries from a password manager.

Still failing with the latest password?

  1. Clear the autofill: delete every character in the field, then paste fresh.
  2. Try an incognito window or a different device to rule out local cache issues.
  3. If the error is actually a code prompt rather than a password error, follow "What do I do when Prime Video asks for an OTP code?"
  4. The password may have just rotated before the order page synced — wait 5–10 minutes and refresh once more.

If it still fails, contact FoxVIP live chat with your order number.
