How do I change subtitles and language on Prime Video?

Subtitles and dubbing are switched inside the player — click the speech-bubble icon in the top-right corner during playback. The website's interface language is a separate setting and doesn't affect subtitles.

Switching subtitles and audio

1. Play any title and move your mouse over the video (tap the screen on mobile/TV) to bring up the controls.
2. Click the speech-bubble icon (Subtitles and Audio) in the top-right corner.
3. Pick a subtitle language in the Subtitles column and a dub in the Audio column.
4. Changes apply instantly — no need to restart playback.

Available languages are set by each title's distributor, so not everything has every language. Scroll down on a title's detail page to preview its "Subtitles" and "Audio languages" lists before watching.

Adjusting subtitle style (size and color)

1. In the subtitle menu, click Subtitle settings (on the web you can also go to primevideo.com → Settings → Subtitles).
2. Adjust font size, color, and background opacity. The style is saved per device for future playback.

Changing the website interface language

1. Sign in at primevideo.com, click your avatar → Account & Settings.
2. Open the Language tab.
3. Choose from a dozen-plus interface languages and save; the whole site switches immediately.

If it doesn't work

• Your language is missing for a title: that title simply doesn't ship with it — a content limitation, not an account issue.
• TV app ignores your phone's subtitle style: styles are stored per device; set them again on the TV.
• Interface language didn't change: clear the browser cache or hard-refresh the page.
