Each model charges per second of video — Turbo models cost 5 credits/sec, standard models 10-12; the shared pool resets each billing cycle.

How are Runway credits calculated, and what if they run out?

Runway charges video seconds × the model's per-second rate. The interface shows the estimated cost before you generate, and the bottom-left corner always shows the remaining balance. On a shared account the credits are pooled; once they're gone, everyone waits for the next billing cycle.

(The number shown in the generation view is authoritative — Runway adjusts pricing occasionally.)

Credits are only charged on successful generations; failed jobs are normally refunded automatically.
Re-runs and video extensions are billed as new jobs.
Some editing tools (like Green Screen) are free for light use and metered beyond that — check the on-screen note before running them.

Stretching your credits

Prototype with a Turbo model at 5 seconds; only render the final take on Gen-4.
Image-to-video is cheaper than trial-and-erroring with text — perfect your first frame elsewhere, then animate it.
Fix the seed and tweak the prompt instead of blind re-rolling.
