Yes. Beyond video generation, the shared account includes Runway's full suite of AI editing tools. Find them under Tools in the left sidebar at app.runwayml.com (or the tool cards on the home screen).
The tools worth knowing
- Green Screen (AI rotoscoping): upload a video, click the subject, and the AI cuts it out frame by frame — export with a transparent or green background, no manual rotoscoping.
- Inpainting (object removal): brush over anything you want gone (passers-by, logos, clutter) and the AI fills in the background.
- Lip Sync: upload a video of a person plus audio or text, and their mouth matches the speech.
- Act-One (performance transfer): drive a generated character's facial expressions and head movement with a video of your own performance.
- Frame Interpolation: string still images into a smooth animation, or smooth out choppy footage.
- Expand Video: convert a landscape clip to vertical (or other ratios) with AI painting in the missing areas.
- Text/Image to Image: create or edit still images — handy for building the first frame of an image-to-video job.
How to use one (Green Screen example)
- Sidebar → Tools → Green Screen.
- Upload a video (clips under a minute with clear subject-background contrast work best).
- Click the subject to create a selection; refine edges with the add/subtract brushes.
- Preview, then export with an alpha channel or a solid background.
Things to note
- Some tools consume credits based on footage length; the estimated cost appears before the job runs and draws from the same shared pool as video generation.
- Tool jobs go through the same queue — split long footage into short segments.
- Output from these tools carries the same commercial usage rights as generated videos.
