YouTube Premium
【YouTube Premium】Which devices can I use YouTube Premium on?
All of them — Premium follows your Google account, so phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs, and game consoles all get ad-free playback with no device cap.
Which devices can I use YouTube Premium on?
Any device that can sign in to YouTube. Premium is attached to your Google account, not to hardware — phone, tablet, computer, smart TV, game console: sign in with that account and ad-free playback kicks in. Google puts no cap on how many devices can be signed in.
By device type
- Phone / tablet: sign in to the YouTube and YouTube Music apps. Background play and offline downloads are app-only features.
- Computer: open youtube.com in any browser and sign in.
- Smart TV / streaming box: open the TV's YouTube app and choose Sign in. You can type your credentials, but the easier path is Sign in with your phone — the TV shows a yt.be/activate link and a code; scan or enter the code on your phone, confirm, and the TV signs in.
- Game consoles (PS5 / Xbox / Switch): install the YouTube app and sign in the same way as a TV.
Good to know
- On a shared TV, Premium only applies while your account is the active one — switching to another profile on the TV brings the ads back.
- Offline downloads live on the device that downloaded them; a new device needs its own downloads.
If a device isn't ad-free
- Check which account the YouTube app on that device is actually signed in to — TVs are often stuck on an old account.
- Sign out fully, sign back in, or update the app to the latest version.
- If you joined the family minutes ago, give it a little time to sync.
